Why You Should Invest In Your Record Label

This week I want to share with you one of my biggest regrets from when I started my record label…

Back in 2010, I wasn’t really taking myself (or my dream of starting a label) seriously, and I never invested any explicit amount of cash into the label...

Of course, I invested ample implicit costs, but I often wonder where the label would be today if I had set aside a dedicated amount of cash to invest in growing my label.

Here are 3 reasons I think folks should invest in their record label…

1. It holds you accountable! Having skin in the game will ensure that you give it your all. Actual dollars will hold you accountable to your original vision.

2. You get access to professionals! Paying for a publicist, accountant, or lawyer not only solves a specific problem, but it gives you a chance to chat with specialists in various fields.

3. It actually improves your record label! Whether it’s working with a publicist, a graphic designer, or creating label merch: investing in our labels should improve the overall reach and impact of our record labels.

I hope you’ve found this helpful and encouraging!
